FreshLedger Privacy Policy

FreshLedger helps kitchens manage purchasing, inventory, ingredients, suppliers, and related records. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is protected.

Privacy at a glance: FreshLedger does not require an account and does not currently use advertising, analytics, social login, location tracking, or cloud storage services. Your ledger is designed to stay on your device unless you choose to export or share it.

1. Information We Handle

FreshLedger is a local purchasing and inventory app. Depending on the features you use, information entered into the app may include:

  • Ingredient records: names, categories, units, stock levels, par levels, unit costs, expiry dates, preferred suppliers, and notes.
  • Purchase records: dates, ingredients, suppliers, quantities, prices, order status, invoice numbers, and notes.
  • Supplier records: supplier names, contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, payment terms, ratings, notes, and supplier images such as logos or storefront photos.
  • Inventory adjustment records: dates, quantities, adjustment reasons, and notes.
  • App preferences: your selected app language and other preferences saved by iOS for the app.

Photos and supplier images

If you choose to add a supplier logo or storefront photo, iOS provides the selected image to FreshLedger through the system photo picker. FreshLedger receives only the image you select, not your entire photo library. The selected image may be resized and compressed before it is stored with the supplier record.

Information we do not intentionally collect

FreshLedger does not intentionally collect your IP address, precise or approximate location, contacts, microphone recordings, camera recordings, advertising identifiers, or other device identifiers. The app does not require registration, login, or an online account.

2. How We Use Information

Information handled by FreshLedger is used only to provide the app's core functions, including:

  • Creating and maintaining your ingredient, supplier, purchase, and inventory records.
  • Calculating spending, stock values, order totals, and purchasing summaries.
  • Highlighting low-stock and approaching-expiry ingredients within the app.
  • Displaying supplier history, reports, and other views you request.
  • Saving your language preference and applying the selected interface language.
  • Responding to support requests when you contact us.

FreshLedger does not currently use your information for advertising, behavioral profiling, automated decision-making, or personalized marketing.

3. Local Storage and Data Sharing

Your FreshLedger records are stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. FreshLedger does not currently operate a cloud database or transmit your ledger to our servers during normal use.

You may use the app's export function to create a ledger data file. If you choose to share or save that file, iOS will present its system sharing interface and the data will be handled by the destination you select, such as Files, Mail, or another app. An exported file may contain the records listed in Section 1, including supplier images. The privacy practices of that destination apply after you share the file.

4. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not currently share FreshLedger records with advertising networks, analytics providers, data brokers, or cloud storage providers.

Information may be disclosed only in the following limited circumstances:

  • At your direction: when you explicitly export, share, or otherwise send data from the app.
  • With your consent: when you specifically ask us to use information for a stated purpose.
  • Legal requirements: when disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a valid legal process, or a lawful government request.
  • Protection of rights and safety: when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security issues, or threats to the rights and safety of users or others.

5. Security and Retention

We use the app's private iOS storage and reasonable technical practices to help protect locally stored information. You should also use a device passcode and keep iOS up to date. No electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Your records remain on your device until you edit or delete them, use the app's clear-workspace function, remove the app, or otherwise manage the app's data through iOS. Device backups may retain app data according to your iOS backup settings. Exported copies are retained by the locations or services where you save or share them.

6. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or request information about personal data associated with you. FreshLedger also provides in-app controls that let you:

  • View and edit ingredient, supplier, purchase, and inventory records.
  • Delete individual records, including supplier images.
  • Clear all local workspace records from the app.
  • Choose whether to select a photo through the system photo picker.
  • Choose whether and where to export or share your ledger.

Because FreshLedger does not currently maintain user accounts or a server-side copy of your ledger, we generally cannot retrieve or delete a copy that we do not possess. To ask a privacy question or request assistance, contact us at caigou@163.com.

7. Third-Party Services

FreshLedger currently does not integrate advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, social login, push notification services, or cloud storage services. The app does use Apple's system photo picker and system sharing interface. Apple and any app or service you choose as a sharing destination may process information under their own privacy policies.

FreshLedger does not control third-party privacy practices. Please review the applicable third-party policy before sharing information with that service.

8. Children's Privacy

FreshLedger is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at caigou@163.com so we can review the request.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to FreshLedger, applicable law, or our information practices. When changes are material, we may provide notice in the app or through another reasonable channel. The updated policy will take effect when posted, unless a later effective date is stated.
